The Growth Journey

 

PROBLEM:
Michael at Golfwod came to us wanting to grow app users. The community that Golfwod coaches are hugely engaged. However, because of the unique positioning of the brand between fitness and golf previous agencies struggled to find scalable methods to grow users in a profitable way. A challenge all apps have in their early stages is scaling through the cash flow bottlenecks caused by Apple’s 30-day payment run and high fees. Alongside these goals, was the general growth of the brand on Instagram.

SOLUTION:
We implemented a multi-channel approach segmenting app campaigns driving traffic to the app store, alongside conversion and retargeting campaigns. We activated app install campaigns on Google Ads, Apple Ads and the Facebook/ Instagram network. Conversion ads were tested and scaled using a bid cap strategy, followed up with an intricate retargeting column to reach visitors that may not have converted the first time. Finally, we drove golf advocates that had not heard of the brand straight to the amazing content on Golfwod’s Instagram page.

RESULTS:
Despite the challenges of Apple releasing IOS 14 in the middle of the campaign, we have been able to achieve some quite remarkable results. The multi-channel approach to driving app installs delivered 790% User growth and 840% revenue growth during the campaign. Pivoting to Apple Ads has driven a unique and unsaturated placement yielding installs for as little as $0.40. Conversions through to Shopify have grown to provide a positive ROAS of 184%, and the engagement campaigns have served to grow the fan base by thousands per month on Instagram whilst assisting with new and exciting members of the Golfwod community. Not only that, we’ve had a blast working on the project with Michael and look forward to many more successful months ahead.
